The trade

E AA AA AA AA

When: An enemy is within range.

Spinning Slash dashes you and damages enemies on your path, your attacks generate Fury, Bloodlust heals you.

Defense

W AA AA

When: You are fighting high-attack enemies.

Mocking Shout reduces the attack damage of nearby champions; those who flee are slowed.

The survival ultimate

E AA AA

When: You are at low health.

Undying Rage stops you from dying whatever the wounds: keep fighting.

Common mistakes

Casting Undying Rage too early: it has a limited duration.
Consuming your Fury with no attacks to make.
Forgetting Mocking Shout against high-attack enemies.

Cooldowns, costs and ranges

Official ability descriptions

PassiveBattle Fury

Tryndamere gains Fury for each attack, critical strike, and killing blow he makes. Fury passively increases his Critical Strike Chance and can be consumed with his Bloodlust spell.

QBloodlust

Tryndamere thrives on the thrills of combat, increasing his Attack Damage as he is more and more wounded. He can cast Bloodlust to consume his Fury and heal himself.

WMocking Shout

Tryndamere lets out an insulting cry, decreasing surrounding champions' Attack Damage. Enemies with their backs turned to Tryndamere also have their Move Speed reduced.

ESpinning Slash

Tryndamere slices toward a target unit, dealing damage to enemies in his path.

RUndying Rage

Tryndamere's lust for battle becomes so strong that he is unable to die, no matter how wounded he becomes.

Riot's official tips for playing Tryndamere

Delaying the activation of Undying Rage is a very effective way to make an enemy champion over-commit to trying to kill you.
Bloodlust is an excellent way to heal Tryndamere. Try not to let it fade off before you activate it.
If the enemy is stacking Armor, try building items like Last Whisper or Youmuu's Ghostblade.

How to play around Tryndamere's combos

Try harassing Tryndamere early so he can't kill minions and heal with Bloodlust.
Remember, Tryndamere can only slow you if you are facing away from him.
Most of Tryndamere's damage is physical. If he's getting too strong, consider buying a Thornmail.
