The trade

Q AA AA

When: An enemy is within range.

Last Rites deals bonus damage and heals you, creating a grave if it hits a champion; Mourning Mist reduces armor, damages, slows and marks.

Isolation

When: A carry is close to their allies.

Dark Procession summons a destructible wall that blocks enemy movement and separates the target.

The Maiden ultimate

Q AA AA

When: A carry is identified.

Eulogy of the Isles summons the Maiden on the target: your attacks against them deal bonus damage; the Maiden turns the dead into Ghouls.

Common mistakes

Not using the graves created by Last Rites.
Placing the wall with no plan.
Casting the ultimate on the wrong target: the Maiden follows her target.

Cooldowns, costs and ranges

A combo only comes back once its abilities are off cooldown: these values (rank 1 to max rank, in seconds) tell how long to wait between two combos. Source: Data Dragon 16.19.1.

Official ability descriptions

PassiveShepherd of Souls

The Cursed Horde: Yorick can summon Mist Walkers to swarm and attack nearby enemies.

QLast Rites

Yorick deals bonus damage on his next attack and heals himself. If the target is a champion or large monster or if the target dies, a grave will be dug.

WDark Procession

Yorick summons a destructible wall at target location that will block enemy movement.

EMourning Mist

Yorick throws a globule of Black Mist that reduces armor, damages, slows and marks enemies. Summoned units gain move speed when moving towards marked targets.

REulogy of the Isles

Yorick summons the Maiden of the Mist that causes Yorick's attacks against the Maiden's target to deal bonus damage. The Maiden will also automatically raise Walkers from dead enemies.

Riot's official tips for playing Yorick

You do not need to cast Awakening to regain the ability to cast Last Rites.
The Maiden will attempt to assist you in a fight, so choose your targets well.
You can send the Maiden down a lane alone, be careful though, as she represents a large portion of your combat power.

How to play around Yorick's combos

You can cast Smite on Mist Walkers and the Maiden of the Mist to damage or kill them.
Try to thin out Yorick's minions before you engage him, Mist Walkers will die from a basic attack or a single target spell.
You can attack Dark Procession to break the wall down.
