Combos and how to play

Written guide · based on the official ability texts

Jinx is a marksman who becomes dominant as soon as she is well protected. Her passive gives her a huge movement and attack speed bonus on every takedown, letting her chain kills in a fight that is already well engaged. She alternates between the minigun, which ramps up attack speed, and the rocket launcher, which hits in an area at longer range but costs mana. Her weakness is a lack of defense: if her chompers miss, she is vulnerable.

The fringe of the team fight
Zap! W AA AA AA AA

When: A fight breaks out and your team is protecting you.

Stay on the edge of the fight, use Zap! then your rockets, and only pull out the minigun when it is safe. Each takedown triggers your passive: the speed you gain lets you chain onto the next target.

Defending against a diver
Flame Chompers! E Zap! W Switcheroo! Q AA AA

When: An enemy jumps on you.

Place Flame Chompers on their path: they root the enemy when stepped on. Slow them with Zap!, then swap back to the minigun with Switcheroo! to finish them at close range.

The ultimate to finish a target
Super Mega Death Rocket! R

When: A weakened enemy is fleeing or standing far from you.

Super Mega Death Rocket crosses the map and its damage grows during its flight, based on the target's missing health: the farther you are from the target, the harder the ultimate hits. Fire it from afar to secure a kill or a chase.

Laning phase

Use rockets on minions to hit nearby enemy champions without drawing their attention, and switch to the minigun as soon as an enemy gets too close. Keep your Flame Chompers to defend yourself: their long cooldown makes them your main protection. Zap! slows and reveals the target at very long range, ideal to set up a trade.
