Combos and how to play
Written guide · based on the official ability texts
Ekko is an assassin-mage who manipulates time. His passive deals bonus magic damage every third attack or ability on the same target. Timewinder slows and damages twice, Parallel Convergence creates an anomaly that slows then stuns, and his ultimate makes him untargetable by returning him to where he was a few seconds ago.
Harassment

When: An enemy is within range of the grenade.
Timewinder deals damage and slows, Phase Dive teleports you next to the target with bonus damage, then your attacks trigger the passive every third hit.
The stun
W›Q›E
When: Enemies are grouping.
After a few seconds, Parallel Convergence creates an anomaly that slows; if you enter it, you gain a shield and stun those inside. Place it where they are going.
The emergency ultimate
R
When: You are in danger or want to damage several enemies.
Chronobreak makes you untargetable and returns you to where you were a few seconds earlier, recovering a percentage of the health you lost; enemies near your arrival take heavy damage.
Laning phase
Use Timewinder at range: the grenade returns to you and damages on its way. Do not hold Chronobreak for nothing: his ultimate is as much a survival tool as an engage.
Common mistakes
Using the ultimate without remembering you go back to where you were a few seconds ago: assess that spot first.
Placing Parallel Convergence at random: it has a delay before it creates the anomaly.
Wasting Phase Dive: it is your dodge, and its next attack teleports you next to the target.
Riot's official tips for playing Ekko
Chronobreak is a potent escape tool, but it can also be quite powerful when used offensively. Don't underestimate its damage potential.
If you can proc Z-Drive Resonance on an enemy champion, it's worth taking risks to do so. The bonus Move Speed makes it easy to escape.
Phase Dive's dash is a great tool for setting up Ekko's other abilities. Use it to get double hits with Timewinder or get into position to detonate Parallel Convergence.

Abilities
PassiveZ-Drive Resonance
Every third attack or damaging spell on the same target deals bonus magic damage, and grants Ekko a burst of speed if the target is a champion.
QTimewinder
Ekko throws a temporal grenade that expands into a time-distortion field upon hitting an enemy champion, slowing and damaging anyone caught inside. After a delay, the grenade rewinds back to Ekko, dealing damage on its return.
WParallel Convergence
Ekko's basic attacks deal bonus magic damage to low health enemies. He can cast Parallel Convergence to split the timeline, creating an anomaly after a few seconds that slows enemies caught inside. If Ekko enters the anomaly, he gains shielding and stuns enemies by suspending them in time.
EPhase Dive
Ekko rolls evasively while charging up his Z-Drive. His next attack deals bonus damage and warps reality, teleporting him to his target.
RChronobreak
Ekko shatters his timeline, becoming untargetable and rewinding to a more favorable point in time. He returns to whenever he was a few seconds ago, and heals for a percentage of the damage received in that duration. Enemies near his arrival zone take massive damage.
