Feral Druid in WoW Forever: Shifting Power, the new powershifting
The latest WoW Forever beta build changes the Feral Druid: two new talents, Shifting Power and Improved Shifting Power, replace the original "powershifting", while Tiger's Fury and King of the Jungle are gone. A mixed verdict: a buff for PvE DPS and a nerf for PvP burst, according to Wowhead's analysis.
Feral Druid Shifting Power: every change
- UP
Shifting Power instantly converts 55% of base mana into 40 Energy. Its cost is reduced by effects that reduce shapeshift cost. - UP
Improved Shifting Power: the 16-second cooldown drops to 8 seconds with 2 points. - UP No macro needed, and Shifting Power does not remove slows or snares, unlike original powershifting.
- NERF
Tiger's Fury and
King of the Jungle (60 Energy) are gone: you also lose +15% damage at 20% uptime. - NERF
Furor: shifting from Cat to Bear and back empties all your Energy. Feral Charge to interrupt or Bash to stun now cost you all your Energy, and you need a Shifting Power (a global and mana) to get it back.
What it means for your Feral Druid
- PvE: Wowhead's analyst finds it positive: more Energy matters more than the 15% damage lost.
- PvP: Cat Form burst drops noticeably and mana use goes up.
- Furor's tooltip suggests you should keep your Energy when shifting: Wowhead wonders whether this is an oversight that will be fixed.
- We put no number on this change: the Feral build is not simulated in our level-60 simulator, so no DPS percentage is given.
Method: facts taken from Wowhead's October 6, 2026 analysis, rewritten; no simulation. The PvE/PvP judgments are the source author's. The beta changes often.
