How to get beta access
Sign up on the game's official page with your Battle.net account. Signing up gives you a chance to be picked, not a guarantee: invitations go out regularly throughout the test.
Buy the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection, which include beta access. The Skyborne Heroic Pack does not.
Be among Blizzard's invitees: community veterans, press, fansites, friends and family.
To check your access, look in your Battle.net account for the "World of Warcraft: Forever beta license". Pack buyers may wait up to 30 minutes for it to appear.
What you can do in the beta
Create a new test character: existing characters do not carry over.
Week 1: level cap 20, with the new Skyborne race and the Zephras Isle zone, plus the Hall of Thanes (levels 13 to 18) and Ruins of Lordaeron (levels 15 to 20) dungeons.
Afterwards: level cap 30, with content suited to those levels.
Later in the beta: a "Server Slam" is announced, with no exact date yet.
In the Blizzard announcements we consulted, server regions and what carries over at launch are not specified.
